Anonymous asked: Hey guys, can you give me some input on AP1 S2000's? I hear they have valve problems and yeah I've been in the market for one but not sure whether to get one or not.
AP1 S2000’s are amazing machines. I love ‘em, I own one. They only have valve problems if you create it. People have had problems with their valve retainers breaking due to a mechanical over-rev. That’s the only reason why AP1’s can have valve problems, and that’s just driver error. AP1 S2000’s can be very fast at a track (possibly faster due to different suspension settings), if a seasoned driver is behind the wheel. AP1 S2000’s have stiffer rear suspension, which makes it easier to encounter oversteer. AP2 S2000’s got a softened suspension, making oversteer less abundant.
The AP1 is feels notably more “raw” than an AP2 S2000. The AP1 also has less low end torque. The AP2 S2000 is more comfortable to drive everyday with, and with the higher low end torque, a bit faster when daily driving.
I’m all for AP1’s. You can ask me more specifics, I’d love to answer.
